it’s crazy how in the zone you can get teaching more than one class in a row. it’s pretty cool getting to see that look in a student’s eye when they really grasp something we have taught, especially the ones that were having a tough time…so by the end of it all i was feeling relieved and happy. here’s the recap of LA ’13 part two, complete with our goodie bag breakdown…

has limited edition valentine’s day-inspired with hearts on them that we gave out to this LA class. you know how i feel about hearts…

the outdoor area at was perfect for a quick fresh-air let’s swing around, laugh and try to retain all this new information break. these letterpress by were pressed by . it’s fun to give local goods to our students.

is a great little online shop and we love these tiny ceramic , each printed with a different number.

makes funky jewelry out of acrylic. this kern was so perfect considering our subject matter. and hopefully, it will serve as a reminder of one of our lessons! they also make cmd-z . now that’s a vital keyboard shortcut for anyone new to photoshop.

my friend kristen of who does the florals column here on DLF really pulled out all the stops with some awesome decor, like this stunning greenery photobooth backdrop.

one of our la students was actually a neighbor at my office and works for they gave each student one of these journals and a craft kit.

handpainted ceramic black and white triangle  came to us all the way from greece from the tilissimo . i have two on my end table in my living room right now and i love them.

if you can’t tell by the above picture we had quite a fun bunch (but don’t we always?)

it’s always nice to be home. there is something comfortable about teaching in our beloved LA, and we can’t believe the bunches of brilliant students that continue to walk through our doors. teaching here in town at was a welcome break from all the crazy travel in the last couple months (but don’t get me wrong, i love it!)

sometimes you just have to admit it. these “my bad” letterpress by make it a little easier.

there is always something new and awesome at . we were lucky enough to have their canvas zip in our LA goodie bags this time around.

makes cheeky of bad girls throughout history—hilarious! my favorite is marie antoinette…maybe because of this.

my florals contributor kristen caissie of co decked out our studio in some seriously amazing stems. she really took it in a different—and greener—direction.

delicately-dipped triangle came to us all the way from portugal, made by the .

my go-to for literally every outfit, mini in every color are a must for every wardrobe. i always love giving these because i know they will get used again and again.

each student got a teeny box of even teenier colored by  from our friends at , perfect for adding a splash of color to sketches, notes, to-do lists, you name it.

we find these hold shift mousepads we made exclusively for blogshop are a great reminder of one of our most-used shortcuts, and as you can see we got a dose of sugar from cupcakes.

we love when students come into our video classes a little bit nervous…and leave the class feeling confident & ready to make some blog videos! check out our austin gang…and join us in next month!

each student got a hand drawn ceramic  by  as a memento of our first video class in austin.

by the end of the day, these broken triangle from were chock full of tips. we popped over to their adorable to shoot some footage.

our friend kirsty of in australia makes all kinds of things from wood in her , like these circle post that come in tons of fun colors.

it’s always a blast with a in the house, and we took full advantage.

collects and sells vintage , and we gave one to each student.

we walked around the streets of austin teaching our students some shooting techniques. this little boy wanted to be our model (he loved all the attention from the ladies) on our “live action” demonstration.

we just got back from one of our favorite cities. austin is so full of interesting spots. we dined at a couple of delicious places that you should check out if you’re visiting: ( how cute the interior is), (new thai restaurant with community style tables) and  (food truck).

sometimes your workspace needs just a splash of movement and color, so we thought these by would perk up our student’s desk areas.

 is an amazing store and they gave these quirky little boy and by tokyo-based illustrator noritake.

all our goodies were held in these totes from  with just a hit of gradient that we hope expressed the sentiment of the class.

our friends at make these fun  that they sent along for our austin blogshoppers.

these bright print are from  (they make larger versions as ipad cases) and are great to throw in your purse or just carry as a teeny clutch.

ana from  decked out our space with vintage furniture from and the high five factory made this awesome for our smilebooth. the students had a blast taking tons of pics together.

i think these rifle paper co. cats pajamas from are just the best.

these adorable gift tags are made by locals . i think they would be perfect to label things. you know i’m serious about getting organized these days!

the made these STUNNING florals, which i wish i could have brought home with me. she’s the gal to call in austin, folks!

we were so excited when we found out our pals at were rolling out special valentine’s day with hearts…right up my alley.

never ceases to impress, and of course there tasty treats were the talk of the shop.

we held our austin classes at this time around, and it was such a creative space. perfect for our workshop, with space to learn, gather and share.

these journals were perfect for note-taking. each student got two , and the one labeled sketches will be great to do some thumbnails for new blogshop skills.
