STYLED / 18 RUFFLES
ruffles are everywhere right now. they’re on the hems of skirts and dresses, delicate sleeve details, on the bottom of pants and even on shoes. i get it, the word “ruffle” can be very polarizing. your mind automatically thinks overly girly, super sweet and feminine. but these ruffles are being used in all sorts of ways and on tons of different styles. when it’s done in a linen or a solid color it’s somehow sophisticated feminine. i like ruffles on the asymmetrical hem of a skirt paired with a super simple top and sneakers. i’m also very into the wrap dress with a little ruffle on the hem, the perfect mix of pretty and sexy. – joanie
($218) – i’m crazy about this dress but unfortunately, i’m buntline won’t allow me to wear this style so for all the ladies who can, please wear this for me!
($70) – the perfect summer dress. i love swing dresses because they have so much movement and the fabric is light weight so you can still see your shape underneath. fyi: the trick with oversized dresses is to make sure the shoulders fit.
($200) – cute, cropped and printed. love the ruffled hem and sleeve detail.
($38) – this top comes in three colors and i kind of want them all. it’s a lot of fabric so wear it with something fitted on the bottom to balance it out.
($88) – this mini is perfect for someone on the shorter side or if you don’t mind showing a whole lot of let. i love the sweet floral print and that they show it tucked into a more structure top making the whole look not overly feminine.
($260) – i love this color purple and this is great example of ruffles being used in moderation.
($228) – i know, i’m always linking to Loeffler Randall shoes but i love that this is a sophisticated color (navy) with a playful ruffle.
($430) – definitely the most feminine piece that i’m including but it has so many sweet details it had to be added. and picture it tucked into a pair of light, worn in, fitted jeans.
($60) – cotton/linen and crisp white. this has summer written all over it.
and a few ruffled posts we love from !
