i can’t believe i’ve never been to a big music festival…not coachella, south by southwest or lollapalooza. so i’m really excited to be headed to chicago with  next week to attend lollapalooza and document my favorite festival looks. i’ll be hosting an event at the store on michigan ave the night before (invite below) and really hope to see you there if you are in the chicago area! you can also follow along to see our adventures.

i pulled a bunch of my favorite looks that i could see myself wearing to the festival. they have some really wonderful scarves right now that you should definitely check out. they’re perfect for cool evenings & to use as mini blankets on the grass. i tried to give a bunch of options that would be easy to layer from day to night…

    beautiful looks!

    Sandra says:

Love that you’re coming to Chicago! Although I would not recommend pants, sweaters, scarves, or wedges to wear to a festival. It’s way too hot to wear those items and you need to wear some super comfortable shoes that you can stand in for 8+ hours! 🙂

I’m also surprised you’ve never done a music fest, you seem like the type of gal who would really get down on a good festival. I like the neon sweater skinny jean look. Have a great time!

Yay! see you at the event!

    Grace says:

hey bri! I love your looks and this is seriously one of my favorite blogs ever.

Ive been to lolla for a few years now (I live in chicago) and I NEED to let you know: these outfits wont work. I know gap sponsored this and you need to chose looks from gap but you will literally die in these clothes. lolla is HOT. i mean HOT HOT HOT. you need to basically wear workout clothes and plan on throwing everything out afterward. hope this helped!

    maggie says:

I agree with Sandra – Chicago gets hot, muggy, and sticky, sticky, sticky! I’m from Chicago and I have been way too spoiled with this LA version of summer. Stick to tanks, cut off shorts, and NO sandals unless you want your feet squashed! Good luck!

    gracie says:

Oh my God Bri your bedcover, there was one like that in grandparents old house in Tipperary in Ireland. My grandparents are long dead and the house is now sold, seeing that has brought a lump to my throat. xx

    Maggie says:

Be careful at Lala! I’m from Chicago and have heard how miserable it can be. Stick to shorts & a loose shirt & close toed shoes. I’ll hopefully see you at GAP on Thursday! Fingers crossed!

    Caytlyn says:

I love all these looks! Have fun!

    Sarah says:

So beautiful! Love all the looks!

    mekeesha says:

cute looks. i go to bonnaroo and always roast there wearing light dresses and flip flops. i can’t imagine wearing jeans and wedges but you will look adorable, i am sure.

coachella is basically like a fashion event it seems like, so maybe lollapalooza is too. 🙂

    bri says:

all of these items were just ones that i loved from the store. if you are hot you could always just choose 1 or 2 of them. there’s a lot of weather options in the mix. i happen to be cold all the time (and hate it!) so i like wearing layers. but everyone is different. hope to see some of you there!

    Maggie says:

Have fun! Lots like you’re set with some great looks :).

    Kasi says:

I’m so looking forward to the event! I love that you’re doing something for us Chicagoans 🙂

    Whitney says:

I looove the scarf in the first pic with your sunglasses. I couldn’t find that at GAP, where is it from??

    bri says:

whitney, it’s from the gap store, i couldn’t find it online!

    kristin says:

really, really pretty! what a great deal on that striped sweater…

I can’t believe those printed espadrilles are Gap! Don’t get me wrong…I’m a huge Gap fan, but still! Wish I could come to the event but alas, I’m a bit too far away. Have fun! xo

    Chelsea says:

I love music festivals, they have a great atmosphere, that I’m sure you will love. Gorgeous picks, i love the idea of the scarf, to sit on or wear. x

Ahhh, the line up is incredible! I went last year and fell in love with Chicago for the first time. Have so much fun! Hopefully there won’t be a rainstorm like last August. If weather reports say chance of rain, bring boots that can take a beating! I had mud all over my boots AND dress. Still a good time though 🙂

    Laura says:

And Lollapalooza has officially ceased to be cool.

    nic says:

I hope you love lolla. This is the first year of the least several I don’t have tix. While I would normally agree the festival is a hot and sticky one, we’ve been have unusually cool weather this summer – 70s this weekend! So if this keeps up your outfits will be perfect =)

    Amy Saycich says:

Hi!! I’m just wondering where your white quilt is from on your bed??

    melissa says:

holy smokes, you’re gonna be roasting! i’ve been to lolla many a times and it is hot as can be! i recommend bathing suit top, loose tank, and shorts!

I am soo excited to see your pics from the festival and your event, be sure to take lots!! Too bad I’m not in Chicago 🙁 xoxoxo
