oh my gosh!! I live Detroit, so it would be just a hop, skip, and a jump away 😀

I’ve tried to teach myself the in’s and out’s of photoshop over the last few years, and I think I’m doing OK! But now my sister is having a baby (due any day now!) and I really want be able to capture my niece or newphew in the years to come through beautiful, creative and colorful videography! The blogshop video would be my ticket to success!

    crossing my fingers!

    Emily says:

oh my god! I have been begging my boss to send me to video blogshop for sometime. I would love to go! I’m a writer and trying to expand my skills in graphic design and videography. I know video blogshop would help me. I’m the type of person who captures almost everything on video and would love to learn the skills necessary to put together meaningful, fun & interesting videos. Please pick me! And thanks for the great giveaway!

    Emily says:

I’m a travel writer and have had an itch to add video to my blog posts, but need a jump start. I’m fluent in Photoshop, but it’s been a few years since I used the animation and video features and now I hardly recognize them! I have wonderful footage I want to use from an island in Panama that I was living on for a year …I’m back in Chicago with lots of island footage and would love the opportunity to participate in this blogshop to learn how to turn the footage into the colorful, sun-drenched video shorts of my imagination so that I can share that experience. Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

    Diana Key says:

I have tried my hand at video blogging (a couple of times) and I would love some fresh ideas to get my blog really moving. I am going to be planning a wedding this year and I would love to capture the hilarious moments of wedding planning with my future husband (who has already requested that we serve raw cows milk at our reception). You see what I’m working with here.

I’ve had a slr for over a year and have yet to attempt any video. I would like to learn the ins and outs to add video to my blog, capture family moments, and add this to my skillset. Plus I am itching for a chance to visit Chicago again!

    Molly says:

I would love to win a spot! I want to learn video for my blog and for just everyday memories. I would love to come to one of your classes and meet you!

    Lindsay says:

I would absolutely love to attend this blogshop class! In the Madison area, I primarily use my techy skills to help promote and provide memories for two non-profits. Both the summer camp and mission trip program I work with would benefit immensely from taking their videos to the next level. This would be a dream!

    Abigail says:

What a great opportunity! I grew up and live in Chicago, and although I am studying film at RISD right now, I would be back for the summer in time for blogshop. I would love to attend because although I am a film major, I haven’t started with my major coursework yet (still in foundations) and it would be incredible to get a jump start and a different perspective from the professors in an academic setting, who aren’t usually thinking about how video can be used out side of traditional ways (IE. online and for blogging, which is an incredible tool for creative output). I am also working on a video project this summer with my friend who lives half-way across the country, and it would be so helpful to learn some tips before starting on that.

My blog is extremely boring and falling a part. I really need your help Bri!! Please please please give me this opportunity! I will make all of us proud!! Have a great day!! <3 <3

    Maddie Lane says:

I am a graphic design student at the University of Tennessee. I have done a typography animation in photoshop, but I am really lost on the video part! I want to learn what makes a great video clip & how to combine type & video image in a pleasing way. I am not sure what I want to do with my graphic design degree yet, but I want to try and learn a little bit of everything to help me figure that out!

    Erin says:

OMG! I am in the process of BEGGING to be allowed to come to this class RIGHT NOW. Here’s hoping– I even found a hotel deal so I can wing in and wing out in time to be back at work on Tuesday morning!

    Parvina says:

I am artist/graphic designer. I’ve always wanted to make a video of my screenprinting process to share with people who follow my business. This would be so helpful! Thanks!

    magen says:

All of the above! I have recently really fallen in love with video and upgrade my camera so I can shoot video- but I’m just rubbish at editing and have NO idea what i’m doing! I live in Chicago and this would be a perfect opportunity! I’d use the skills I learn for my blog, personal, and I’d definitely be able to use it at work.

    Samantha W says:

This is quite serendipitous! I left Canada in February to come to Chicago to be with my long-time friend turned boyfriend. Inspired after sharing one another’s home videos from when we were young we decided to start making home movies of ourselves to show our children and grand children one day. Our lives are so tumultuous and exciting right now I would be thrilled to really step up the production quality of our sweet little vids.

    Grace A says:

I would love to learn video so that I can document adventures and relive them!!

oh my goodness what an amazing giveaway! i live in indianapolis {3 hours from chicago} but would be more than happy to make the trip for this! i would love to learn more about videography so that i can document my life with my long-time boyfriend {both the daily, seemingly mundane things, as well as travels abroad} for my future children and grandchildren to see. i always have a fear that my most important memories will eventually fade overtime, which is why i try to keep as many as possible documented in video, photo, or writing. thanks for the awesome giveaway!

I’d love a chance to win a spot in the Chicago video class so I can add new dimension to my personal projects and to my photography work! I love learning new media to explore my vision and expand my creativity!

    Holly says:

ooh yes! i live only a couple of hours away and would love to delve into video. i feel comfortable in my photo skillz, but feel my blog (and my design work) could be helped exponentially by getting my video on and exploring that medium. , i travel a lot and being able to do video travel would be UHHMAYYZZINNGG!

    Lizzie says:

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh! I’ve been eyeing this class ever since you posted it, but in the end, had to come to terms with the fact that I couldn’t afford it this spring. I would absolutely *love* the opportunity to go!

Six months ago, my husband and I started up our own little business, The Urbaness. It’s a Chicago guide and lifestyle website focused on showcasing the amazing women in this city. So far, we’ve shared these women’s stories through writing, photography, and illustration–but I’m dying to branch out into video! I just don’t know how to do it.

Attending this class would make a huge impact on what we’re aiming to do with The Urbaness, bringing the spirited, lively, and beautiful women we profile to life for our readers. It’s all about inspiration!

Thank you so much for the opportunity, Bri!

I would LOVE to take the video class! I’m working on ecourses for my business, and I would love to be able to incorporate videos but have no idea where to start. I know Photoshop but have never played around with the video functions. I almost purchased a ticket to this class, but the class + flight was a little too much for my budget this month. But I could handle the cost of just the flight! Liked on Facebook and crossing my fingers for this!

    Jillian says:

Video is a way to express ourselves and capture moments in life so we can remember them for eternity. I’d love the opportunity to sharpen my skills for blogs, family weddings and just enjoying the city of Chicago. Fingers crossed!

    Michelle says:

I Die! I would love, love, love to win this. I have lived in Chicago all my life and I’m actually just starting a business (a bath salt co. named SWIM CLUB) with my friend and this would be SO beneficial for us. We are really pouring our hearts into this company and want to build it into something that people love. And who knows, maybe once our company launches we could return the favor and supply a blogshop with our super awesome bath salts! fingers crossed 🙂

    Tonya says:

I own an online pop up shop that is launching in July, and I want to start making shop promos for the products I will be selling every couple months. Check out my shop WJ and J’s Whimsies!

    Laura says:

Amazing!! I would love to learn so that I can take the millions of home videos I make into something pretty! I have a bebe coming in September, so I know the video shooting is not going to stop! <3 thanks

    Meg says:

I would love to attend the video class!! I’ve already planned to attend sometime this year– would be so awesome to attend sooner than later! Plus I already be in town for the Blogshop Photoshop part of the weekend. 😉

    Tegan says:

I’m a recent college graduate living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I came across your blog this week and I am loving everything about it! I know bits and pieces on photography and shooting basic video on my Canon Rebel Ti1 but I think a class could really help enhance my skills. I would love to learn to capture my everyday life – whether that be family/friends, parties, road trips, or other events. I am currently on the road to figuring out exactly what makes me happy and how I can achieve to make a living out of that and I think this would be one more useful life long skill that will continue to push me on to what might come next.

    Kate says:

I would love to attend! I live right up the road from Chitown, in Milwaukee, and recently started an event planning and design business here. I would love to improve my video skills so I can create promos for my business and put them on my website and blog. I am familiar with photoshop and I’ve dabbled with editing videos in premiere pro, but I could use some extra help to polish up my skills! Plus I would love to meet everyone!

    Rosemary R says:

    Hi Bri!

My friend Bethany and I have combined our passion of vintage, color, and fun and created our company, Where Roses Bloom. Although I have a bit of Photoshop experience, it is very basic. I would love to participate in your video workshop so I could learn the skills necessary to making the best promotional pieces I could for our store.

We love inspiring people to live life to the fullest not only in the unique and eclectic products we sell but especially in the outlook we have on life, and I think being able to show this through videos I produced would be oh so amazing!

    Nikki says:

My sister and I have a blog and I would love to add video to it. I really want to create something new for my blog and challenge myself creatively.

    Kristin says:

I would LOVE to go to Blogshop Video – I used to live in Chicago too and would love to travel back there! I’m working on overhauling my blog and would really enjoy learning about video in Photoshop as a way to enhance my content. I’d also love to learn how to make video for possibly creating wedding videos down the road!

    Marie B says:

This is such a delight! I took blogshop in LA, and video knowledge would be so educational to help me build my photography business, Marie Buck Photography, by adding video for events and my blog. Chicago is my hometown!

    Emily M says:

I just recently moved to Chicago and started my own business! I would love to learn about making videos in Photoshop so I can provide my customers and blog readers with video content. I’m also having a baby in September, so video knowledge would definitely come in handy for those beloved family videos.

    Mellanie says:

I would LOVE to learn video for my job as a Cyclone Life Blogger in Iowa State University!

    Amber says:

This is SO awesome, thank you!! Chicago is the nearest blogshop to me and I would love to attend the video class to take my blog to the next level and also apply it to my new business I’m putting together. Each time I see one of your video’s Bri, I’m always left with the same feeling of how I want to learn to do that especially the recent one with Pharmacie La and the bubbles over the drink- love it!!

    Elyse says:

I’m seeking to learn and grow as a designer—a designer that manages and creates content for the social media of a wonderfully colorful company; literally, our tagline is, “where color lives.” My goal is to highlight products in a fresh way with video! Lord knows I can’t fool the public anymore into watching my video-slash-slideshows-made-with-iMovie #cringe

Thank you for the wonderful opportunity!

    Diana says:

Awesome – what a great giveaway! I can edit video in Premiere, but would love to see the process in Photoshop!

    Katie says:

Wow!!! What an amazing opportunity!! I live in Chicago and would so love to attend! I’m working on starting a new blog, after taking several years off. I’d really love to incorporate videos into my new blog. I really think that’s the wave of the future for blogging, it’s another level of connecting with others and an amazing creative tool! The blogshop class would be an amazing opportunity!!

    Jamie says:

I’ve been taking sketch comedy classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade for a couple of years now and have loved them. I’ve started envisioning and writing a short web series, and I’d love to learn the skills to actually film it and bring it to life!

sweet bri, i love your generous heart. the world benefits because of you. thank you for being you.

i miss blogshop so much, can you please come to germany again? big hug!

    jocelyn xx

    courtney says:

i would love to take this class to get a jumpstart on adding video to our blog and website! it would be a dream come to true to take this class!!! we also travel to haiti for our soap donations and to be able to add videos from that, would be absolutely incredible!

    Jamie says:

I would love this video class because I am wanting to branch out of my current job and start a blog and I think video knowledge is a must have for a successful blog!

    Rose says:

I just got a new laptop and am ready to install psd cs6! I would absolutely love to learn how to do video editing in the program, I have been using adobe premiere for other videos but the simplicity of of editing in psd (that you always mention) sounds much more appealing! I will be making short films for my blog – obsession session.com as well as compiling road trip docs on our family trips this Summer! yay! being that I am only 3 hours from Chicago I would absolutely love to be at the video editing class – then I can eat at the Chicago Dinner afterwards! my favorite windy city vegan eats! so basically I will see you there right?!

    Rose says:

p.s. I am heading to ALT NYC in June, so this would just be the icing on the cake to taking the blog to the next level.

Eeeek! I would LOVE to have the opportunity to come to this video workshop! I am a junior graphic design student and I leave for London in June for an all summer photography internship and would so love to be able to capture better and more MAGICAL videos while I am there to post on my blog and to remember forever. I am also a photographer and have been dying to bring film in as a part of my business to be able to do video promos, lovey dovey engagement session videos, etc. This would rock my world!! XO

I’m dying to take this video course because I want to learn from the best! I do a ton with graphic elements on my site and think that video could take my blog to the next level! I also just opened an antique shop and think I could use video a ton to help us promote our store!

Thanks so much for offering this giveaway!

    Natalia says:

I love the idea of this class – my friend and I will be launching our bath salt business soon and this would be a great opportunity to learn another way to show off our products (and overall just get some inspiration!). Thanks for the chance 🙂

Hello – and a pre-welcome to Chicago! (fingers crossed that it’ll be gorgeous out!) I launched an online store in March, called August General Store, and need expert training in video. I love to dabble in Photoshop, but I do bother my graphic design buddies way too often for the more “complex” tasks. I’d love to be apart of your workshop and community. I want to take my blog and business to the next level, create an online personality that actually matches my personality, and to learn from the best. 🙂

Thank you kindly for this opportunity. I hope you have a wonderful time. (Keeping my fingers crossed.)

    Tasha says:

HOly mOly! What an awesome giveaway. I would looove to take blogshop because I just got a real big girl design job and we are planning on making videos for our design services and for our online store!

    Tamara says:

I have been dying to attend Blogshop for some time now and would absolutely love the opportunity to attend the video course in Chicago! I love all things Designlovefest and have just recently decided to embark on a new career in the field of graphic design and branding. My dream has been to start my own blog, but it’s something that I want to do right the first run around, so learning to shoot and edit my own videos would really take my skills to the next level. Taking classes has been a slow process as they can get very pricey (tough to bankroll with a part-time job and unpaid internship…) and being chosen to win a spot in the class would truly be a huge help!

My mom lives in Chicago so it would also be a wonderful reason to come out for a visit now that the chilly weather is over!

    Amanda says:

I photograph and record everything and I need a creative way to share! I am taking the Photoshop class next weekend and would love to stay around and learn video (and enjoy Chicago) for another day!

    Theresa says:

Darn! I wish I could win a spot to the weekend of Blogshop! I LOVED blogshop Video in Chicago last year! But ya know what? I might as well because I am sure a refresher wouldn’t hurt! When I went to blogshop video last year I had JUST had my baby and I think I had mama brain. I use a lot of what I can remember but it would be so great to take it again. I run a life coaching business and love documenting my life for my followers to see and be inspired. My mother-in-law lives in Florida and barely gets to see us unless we post videos. I would definitely benefit from a blogshop video refresher. To whoever wins, it is definitely worth it. I can only imagine what all Bri and Angela are teaching since they kicked off the program a year ago! P.S. HAPPY 1 year of Blogshop Video!!! XO! – Theresa

Biggest fan of your blog and blogshop in new york. Blogging about my expat life in turks and caicos – wouldn’t it be awesome to post some cool videos of the islands too?

    Maggie says:

How funny-I just found your blog today and this is perfect!
I live in Chicago and am just starting up my lifestyle blog. I also run my own small bridal lingerie and accessory business so I’ve wanted to use video for both of those. So glad I stumbled across your blog today!

    monica says:

I would love, love, love to win this! I’m a photographer who is pretty Photoshop savvy, and learning the video side of my dSLR (and Photoshop!) would be a dream come true. All my fingers and toes are crossed!

    Caro says:

Oh my golly! I would LOVE to join y’all for the Chicago Video workshop. I’ve been eyeing it since it was announced! I recently quit my full-time job to devote myself fully to a new business so I just can’t swing the cost. I’m a freelance designer and super comfortable in CS6 (including Photoshop!) but I’m a complete novice when it comes to video. I recently launched an arts nonprofit called Creative Kin. We’re really trying to build a strong community of artists and creatives in Chicago, in part through our blog. I feel like our design and written elements are strong, but we’re really lacking is good quality video. There are SO many instances where we have great ideas for videos and no idea how to execute them. I have a great SLR but have been really struggling on how to get started. A crash course would be wonderful!

I’m a young aspiring artist that lives near Chicago and goes to college about 2 1/2 hours away from Chicago. I work at the video bureau at school, making videos to showcase our amazing students and student groups at my campus. I would love to learn more interesting and beautiful video techniques to bring back to my college. I would die to be in either of your classes, but the video one would be incredibly helpful to my job!

    STEFANIE says:

well, this is so perfect it’s SCARY. i’ve been wanting to do one of your lovely video blogshops for the longest! but i was so busy with college and then i ran off to live in the virgin islands for 7 months. i just happen to be back in the states for a bit before i jet off to go backpacking through europe! the timing is PERFECT! it’s meant to beeee.

i don’t live in chicago, but i fly non-revenue through usairways, so i could be there in a heart beat!!! and my old college roommate lives in chicago so i’d have a free place to stay 😉 and i have a mac and a dslr and everything. so if i won this, it’d basically be a totally free, too-good-to-be-true, DREAM sort of thing. i’m crossing all of my fingers and toes and eyes for this.

i want to take this video workshop because i am obsessed with videography. i was a film minor in college, but didn’t learn awesome editing skills like these (we just studied a lot of old movies)! i’ve taught myself how to edit and have made videos for my blog with iMovie, but i am SO READY to get fancy with photoshop video editing.

i want to enhance my video skills for SO MANY reasons! i’m a creative writer and avid memory-capturer. i’m going to be traveling a lot throughout the next year and would LOVE to have the skills to capture and compose beautiful little films to share with friends and strangers and anyone in love with beauty and culture. i post the videos i make on my blog (which i will eventually turn into a business)! it would mean the WORLD to me to know an easier, more professional approach to editing. because i’m so humbled by the people who are inspired by my traveling and volunteering–i’d like to provide the sort of front row seat that words and pictures can’t quite capture.

thank you endlessly for the opportunity! i absolutely adore ya bri!

    Kaleigh says:

I’m a broke college student from Illinois trying to throw together a blog! I would absolutely love this! Thank you so much for the opportunity!

    Paige says:

I love videos and would love to be able to edit them and make them look professional so that I can capture my experiences beautifully!

    Lindsay says:

I would love to participate in this blogshop. I feel like I have a thorough understanding and use of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, but video would really enhance my blog. I try to talk about green living practices on my blog, and video would really enhance the user experience. With green living, people need to know that it is easier than what they are currently doing. I can write about it all I want, but a lot of people don’t believe it until they see it, and video is the best for that!

    margret says:

I am very comfortable in photoshop, but video seems like a whole other world to me. Whenever I capture video of my daily life, I can see myself making a video but I’m so overwhelmed! If I could be a part of your class, I’d be so thankful.

    Jaimie says:

Whoa I would love this! I have been wanting to make some videos for my food blog for a while, but the whole production process is really intimidating for me. Thanks for the opportunity- I hope I win!

    Katrin says:

I couldn’t come, even if I was the lucky winner, because I’m living in Germany. I just wanted to say: such a sweet idea, Bri!

    mary says:

Thanks for the give away! I would love to learn video and apply it social media for small business.

    Maggie says:

As a graphic design major I think this would be a perfect opportunity! I don’t really know much about video yet I have a good grasp on Photoshop, this would really help!

    Chloe G. says:

I’m SO excited for this opportunity! I live super close to Chicago, so my fingers are crossed that I get to visit this wonderful city again 🙂 with blogshop on my itinerary i know i will have a blast! I would love to learn more about videos for my blog, i think it will be a great way to express things that writing or simple photographs can’t show.
my fingers are suuper duper crossed!

    Merissa says:

You’re from Chicago? How cool! I live here! I would LOVE to join Blogshop and learn some of your magic. I’m working on opening my craft business, and some video+photography+photoshop skills would help me make my website and products come alive! I’d love to join you!

Since Chicago is my hometown, this would be such a perfect fit! I would absolutely adore coming to this class. I have loved creating simple video for my blog and family, and I know this class would really bring those shots to life!

    malori says:

I’m going to be in town for the Chicago blogshop and would LOVE to be a part of Video blogshop as well before I head back home!!! I currently blog both personally and professionally. I would use my new video skills to post sweet vids on both blogs. I’m always looking for a way to take my skills to the next level and this would be amazing!!!

    Rose says:

Ohmygoshohmygosh. Well first, big big fan… I’m inspired by any lady with an entrepreneurial spirit tryna do what she loves… but I also happen to adore your aesthetic and all of the content here! I also live in Chicago(!), have a blog, and am writing a self help book for twenty somethings who are giant messes like me. I’m super confident in my writing, and beginner-confident with photoshop… but that’s about it. A video blog tutorial would really help me with my myriad endeavors, and I could use all the help I can get!

Regardless, thank you Design Love Fest! It’ll be super fun!

    Carolyn says:

I’m a freelance writer and photographer, and I’ve been itching lately to try my hand at video, but I don’t have a clue where to start! This class would be a wonderful entrypoint, and I’ve been dying to attend a Blogshop, so I’d be killing two aspirational birds with one stone. My fingers are crossed!

    Jess says:

Dreaming of going to blogshop! Chicago is just a quick train ride up from St. Louis, and it’d be SO WORTH the trip! I’ve been playing around with video for about 6 months on my blog and would love to be able to edit the videos myself – and have everything look gorgeous.

Pick me, choose me, love me. (For lame quotes sake, Bri, I hope you’re a Grey’s fan.)

    Amber says:

I would be thrilled if I could win this out of all things, I think this would benefit me so much. I travel a lot with my husband and two teenage sons, we have taken many small and big vacations since they were babies and they are now 15 & 17. I have always said we need to take more videos to capture these moments but we never seem to take any except a few minutes here and there. I have over 15,000 pictures from vacations but the videos we did take are so short and don’t have anything except a little here and there. I would love to learn how to create a video that will capture all the best moments on our vacations. My sons are getting older now so I want to make sure I capture as much as I can.

    Lindsey says:

As an artist and graphic designer I aim to be as well rounded as possible. I love to learn new skills. I have been reading DesignLove Fest for a few years now and I have always dreamed of attending a blog shop class, however as a student and now recent grad it has never fit in my budget. Winning this would be a dream come true!

    Rachael B says:

I’m just starting up a wedding planning business that will include an array of services. I’d love to use the video session to help gear up my company as well as help me capture memories for both myself and my clients. Also because I’d love LOVE love to meet you in person Bri. You’re pretty amazing and I’m uber envious of your closet, your life, your talent, your creativity… the list goes on. I just feel like there’s so much I could learn from you.

    Rita says:

    I want to win because:
1.I need to make nice videos for my new jewelry brand Toctá
2.I want to make videos for my blog
3.Blogshop looks like fun and I’m in Portugal so I would have a reason to make my first trip to the US!

    Alyssa says:

I would LOVE to learn video so that I can create creative (and cute) how-to videos about the small things everybody should know how to do: tie a tie, poach an egg, etc.

    Molly T says:

I would LOVE a visit to blogshop… My life and work requires me to travel quite a bit, and I would love to have a way to beautifully document these times 🙂

Ahhh, this is so exciting!!! I would LOOOVE to learn a little more about video for my online magazine, Regale (regalemag.com)!! How amazing would that be to launch a professional YouTube channel as another way of connecting with the Millennial Generation?? <3 Thanks, Bri!!!

    Allyson says:

My position at work has slowly evolved to include graphic & video design, since there’s no one else to do it. It’s something I enjoy, so I don’t mind, but I have never had any formal training and it feels like I am flying by the seat of my pants. I’d love to be able to actually learn from someone in person instead of googling tutorials all the time!

    Drake says:

My name is Drake, from Cleveland but now residing in Chicago (Ravenswood). This would be such an interesting workshop to take part in. The thought of utilizing a DSLR / iPhone for an entire workshop is very intriguing. I am currently enrolled in a Cinema & Art class at DePaul University and our final is actually to create a type of experimental film. Perhaps this could be used as inspiration/maybe even incorporated into my final… that would be a two for one 🙂 At DePaul I am studying GD & Spanish but my experiences with film are definitely limited. I have always been interested in attacking the three-dimensional reality, but am often deterred by the vastness of it all. It would be neat to meet and collaborate with other creative people interested in developing a video, especially one uniquely created and around Chicago. Thanks for this cool opportunity!

    Mel says:

A friend and I like to dabble in furniture re-dos and I feel that adding videos to our blog would really help bring things to life. Plus, meeting and learning from you & Angela would be awesome, since I really admire all the work and creative things you ladies do!

Would LOVE to do Blogshop. I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan (three hours away) and would just be thrilled at the opportunity. I’m starting my own business of wedding and invitation stationery and am looking to all of you inspirational bloggers as my guides.

I am a HUGE fan of Blogshop and have been a fan since the LA blogshop class I took last year and would be so excited to take the video class. I’ve just started a new job in Chicago working for a custom men’s suit line. We are re designing our website, blog, and building out a showroom- all very exciting! With that means lots of videos in our future showing the new space, client experience, product, q&a ect. I would love nothing more than to learn about videography from my iPhone so I can take that knowledge learned from Blogshop Video and use it with my new position. Thank you for the consideration!!

So neat that you are originally from Chicago – my hometown! I would love to come to the video workshop in order to explore a new form of creativity. So long I have worked in 2D, but it would be extremely inspiring to put that energy into something that has a different kind of life to it. Jumping at the chance to come learn from you ladies – hope luck is on my side! Cheers 🙂

I loved BlogShop in Dallas and need to learn video to enhance my blog and MAKE ME SMARTER IN THE WORLD OF VIDEO! I’m not yelling, I am excited! Pick me!!

This Chicago gal would LOVE to attend Blogshop! I just went freelance with my photography this year (after reading all your wonderful advice columns!) and have been super interested in using moving images for my blog!

I’m a film / Polaroid photographer and have wanted to make a short FUN video showing the magical development of Polaroids for sometime now but have been intimidated by video editing! This Summer I want to go on bike ride photo adventures exploring the different neighborhoods in Chicago on film, but I’d LOVE to have a video to accompany my jaunts! Blogshop would be perfect!

I live in Chicago, have a Mac, have a DSLR that shoots video, have photoshop, have ideas, have cute bunnies….I can haz blogshop?

    Amanda Marie says:

As a Blogshop alumni, (Dallas, what, what!) I learned SO much in my time there, that I would absolutely LOVE to learn the video side as well with some talented ladies. Also, I would totally make a video (after learning all the tips and tricks in the class) promoting Blogshop video in my own, creative way of how I interpreted the class. So… it’s an obvi choice now right? 🙂

Hi there! I write about food for a hyperlocal news website called LoganSquarist. While I like to think my words and pictures paint glorious pictures, I know that killer videos would take things up a notch. We’ve got so many amazing restaurants and bars debuting in the Logan Square neighborhood this summer (you’ll have to try Parson’s Chicken & Fish when you’re in town) and I want to give them the love and attention they deserve.

    Suzanna says:

I NEED to learn video because I’m going with my husband on a zig-zag US road trip for the next few months, and I need to be able to capture it all! Would love to be able to go!!!

    danielle says:

Ohh I don’t live far from Chicago at all! About an hour drive with traffic!!! I would love to learn video!
My mom and I opened a small handmade & vintage goods shop about 7 months ago. We have been doing great so far. Our goal is to keep things local and handmade and our community really appreciates what we are doing. I would love to be able to document in video what we do on a daily basis and capture what our artists do as well!!!! And even to capture the goings about that are happening in our town, we have started a lot of projects in the community since being open.

I live in the Chicago Suburbs and am looking to start a creative business, sharing my love for photography, design, fashion and business knowledge and I would love to be able to incorporate video into my website. I believe video takes learning to the next level, living in such a virtual/tech world video is the closest thing to hands on learning. With the knowledge I could gain from the video workshop, it would take my creativity and ability to share knowledge to the next level. And lastly it would be the icing on my cake. 🙂

You know just thought I’d throw in another comment to hopefully help my submission 😉 Fingers crossed!

eeeeeeeeee!! [that right there is a textbook Merl dolphin squeal of excitement. known to shatter eardrums and windows in a 1 block radius]

Me: a local jewelry designer, eco stylist and all around cat lady. I’ve had the jewelry line [http://clydesrebirth.com] since 2009 and just started the eco styling last year. I hand make all the jewelry in my shared East Garfield Park studio out of vintage and/or reclaimed materials, so while pieces are similar, everything has a one of a kind feel. This fits in well with my ‘green’ advice [aka the styling] in terms of fashion and style. I’m insanely passionate about WHY I do what I do, and why it’s the best choice for others to implement as well. I have worked both freelance and for a photography company, so while there’s always something more to learn, I have a good handle on that medium.. but video is a whole ‘nother kitten. I really want to create easy green DIY & all natural makeup and beauty tutorials and fun, short eco friendly OOTD videos for my blog as well as creating more in depth interviews featuring individuals in my city who are working to make a ‘green’ difference whether it be through art, fashion or community outreach. People have such polarized views on anything eco friendly and I really want to dispel the notion that you can’t be modern and current while still being conscientious about your shopping and lifestyle choices. I am also always rabidly excited to meet any other creatives living in my [and your former] amazing city.. workshops like this are where amazing collaborations begin!

So.. by picking me, you wouldn’t JUST be helping me, you’d be helping the entire artist community in Chicago. just saying 😉

    Molly says:

    Hi Bri and Angela!

My name is Molly and I’m a recent college graduate from Purdue University (go Boilers!) and I studied Communication as well as Design. My best friend and I have decided to take a non-traditional post-grad path and we’ve decided to expand a blog we started our sophomore year at Purdue, purduelala.com, to other college campuses. We’re calling it U-la-la.com, and it will be an outlet for college creative, like we were, to have a chance to blog on a website that reaches thousands of readers a day (dreaming big over here). One area we really want to focus on is creating fun and artistic videos to advertise U-la-la.com, as well as accompany our original blog posts. So attending the Chicago Video Blogshop would not only be a dream come true and it would just be the extra touch of magic we need to really make our business take off! Not to mention this giveaway is a blessing in disguise considering my post-college empty pockets.

And to explain a little more about our dream for U-la-la.com, I’ve put together a short (amateur) video . Hopefully I’ll be seeing you in Chicago!

    – Molly

I would LOVE this experience! I have been a avide follower of design love fest and blogshop for awhile and have dreamed of experiencing blogspot. It would be a great opportunity and hopefully something that would help me take steps to going full time working for myself as a designer.

    Lauren P says:

Video is a necessity for the craft business that my best friend and I are starting. We have designed and will start selling our laser cut party décor once we have secured funding to purchase a laser cutter. We need to create an attractive and professional video for our kickstarter campaign to be able to raise these funds. We have a passion for the combination of art and technology, so using video as our number one marketing strategy just makes sense.

Learning video from someone with your expertise and passion for the things you love would be privilege and a dream. Your work at DESIGNLOVEFEST and BLOGSHOP defines why someone would want to learn video. You have shown how videos can inspire, teach, and create a movement. If we could own a sliver of that power, we would be unstoppable. Thanks Bri and Angela, for doing what you do best!

I just realized that the link to my name in my previous comment doesn’t work and wanted to make sure you had the right one!

    Fingers crossed! XO
