I MISS THIS PLACE / PARIS

photos by designlovefest

me & arian went to three times for breakfast when we were in paris! it was right around the corner from us, and i loved the vibe there. books lining the walls, perfectly mismatched chairs, and a really cool shopping area just down the hall. i really wish this place would pick up and move to LA.

every morning I would wake up craving their “dipping eggs.” strips of delicious bread, salted butter (why is the butter so good in paris!), and soft boiled eggs. so simple, but SO good. it’s such a fun, interactive way to eat breakfast. and i have a slight obsession for tiny cups and spoons. here’s a couple egg cups that caught my eye…

i loooove eggs! i remember watching a nigella lawson cooking show where she made the perfect soft boiled egg with toast, and ate them out of cure little egg cups – she said she eats them everyday, too. i don’t have any egg cups, yet, but shot glasses work just as well!

Excuse me while I waste the rest of the workday plotting how to get this breakfast into my regular life.

I once read somewhere that books were bound in fabrics based on the content of the book… such as leather for romantics, cottons for everyday reads, and metals for mysteries and thrillers. I wish books were still bound like the ones pictured – texture, color, words, art, <3 LOVE!

Your photos are amazing. I really enjoy the one with the mirror reflection of the books. Sounds like you had an amazing time.

Eggs & soldiers! Yum, my Mum would make them when I was little, I miss being a kid. I wish I’d known about Merci when we were there in August, it looks awesome

I’m glad you went to Merci while you were in Paris, it’s one of favorite place!
The butter fact is funny, the three years i spent in LA i thought the butter didnt taste anything but i never thought that maybe it was the french butter that was good hehe.. cool pics as usual!

This place is absolutely charming! I wish I could escape there now and have a good read. I did a post on my blog a while back where I featured some farm eggs that I styled and photographed. I discovered my mum’s vintage egg cups from Romania and had to use them. They are so cute and colorful. You can see them here if you want:

Thank you for sharing all these fun outings on your travels. Sometimes I feel like I am living vicariously through you! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Take care,
